Hello! : )My name is Krisanna. I am a Western Washington University graduate and an aspiring wedding & events planner. I spent almost my entire college career not knowing what I wanted to do with my life. If you asked my friends, they'd say the 3 things they know best about me are: my love for all things sparkly, my love for interacting with/helping people, & my love for planning. Eventually, it dawned on me that the combination of those three things would make for a great wedding planner. After trying to find a job at a wedding venue [doing wedding coordination] and being let down several times, I felt pretty discouraged about pursing a wedding planning career. For awhile, I decided I should probably just give up and start over with something else. However, my mom & my boyfriend [2 of my biggest fans & inspirations] kept reminding me of how passionate I was about planning & all things weddings and how perfect this job would be for me.My "break-through" happened when I met with my friend & former mentor, Melissa Soule for coffee on January 3, 2013 [Melissa is a PHENOMENAL photographer, check her out-- www.melissajsoule.com ]. I had interned for Melissa during the summer of 2012 and she was truly the first wedding professional to believe in me and give me a chance to do what I love. As we talked, Melissa really encouraged me to just set up a Facebook page and start getting my name out there & letting people know how passionate I am about starting a wedding planning business. This, combined with an idea my mom had given me [offering my services for free at first to gain experience], was the beginning of Koordination by Krisanna. That night, the Koordination by Krisanna Facebook page was created. Within 15 hours, I had 50 likes from my friends & friends of friends. Within 24 hours, I had been contacted by my first bride. The fact that FIFTY people would give me their support by "liking" my page in less than 1 day was astounding and incredibly humbling. It has been 1 month and 1 week since I created the Koordination by Krisanna page. At this time, I have 6 bridal couples who have hired me to plan their weddings for them this summer, as well as a part-time job as the On-site Coordinator at Lairmont Manor [a gorgeous 100-year-old historical mansion]. My page has 112 "likes". I continue to feel so loved and humbled by the crazy amount of support I have received in such a small amount of time & I am BEYOND excited by the possibilities ahead of me.The moral of my story is: Καρτερια Νικα. Perseverance Overcomes [in Greek]. This was my Grandfather's motto and has become my motto as well over the years. It has been such a great reminder for me that, when I graduated from WWU, I got it tattooed on my back.I am just an average girl with a dream of helping others plan one of the most special days of their lives. All it took was me persevering through the disappointments and obstacles and now I am able to proudly say that I have my OWN clients. So, as cliche as it is to hear, don't ever give up on your dreams. Don't ever let others get you down enough that you feel like you can't do something. You CAN & if you put your whole heart into it, you WILL. Καρτερια Νικα!! Perseverance Overcomes.I look forward to updating this blog on a regular basis with more about my story & pictures from my weddings this summer : )Until Next Time!Krisannawww.facebook.com/koordinationbykrisanna
